How I Escaped Screen Addiction and Started Living Intentionally

What’s the coolest thing you’ve done in the past month?

…Can't think of anything? It might be time for a digital detox and this blog is a perfect place to start.

I had a rude awakening at 25 when I realized I had nothing interesting to say about my life. The highlight reel was just… blank. My days were a rinse-and-repeat cycle of wake up, scroll, work, scroll some more, pretend to be productive, scroll again, sleep, repeat.

And the worst part? I couldn’t even blame a lack of time. Apple’s passive-aggressive screen time report made it painfully clear: I was a full-time employee of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. The twist? I was paying the salary—with my most valuable resource: time.

I was letting my 20s quietly slip through my fingers, one scroll at a time. Until I created a 6-week digital wellness plan to reduce screen time, overcome phone addiction, and reclaim my life. Guess what? It worked! I broke my phone addiction and reduced my screen time by 80% and counting. Practicing tech mindfulness has opened space for hobbies like pottery and crochet, and helped me reconnect with friends and family in real life.

As a serial hobbyist with a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science and four years of professional experience in software development, I understand exactly why dopamine loops and variable rewards make it so hard for your brain to quit scrolling, how tech companies structure their algorithms to exploit that, and—most importantly—what you can do to break free.

I'm here to help you outsmart the apps and start actually living intentionally again.

If you’re ready to stop watching other people live cool lives and actually start living your own—Start your tech mindfulness journey here.
